From Both Sides of the Courtroom
I started my legal career as a public defender, trying cases ranging from DUIs to property crimes. I developed a reputation for taking cases to trial when necessary—including once winning four jury trials in a row. When you've stood in front of a jury that many times, you learn what works and what doesn't.
Later, I worked for the State of Washington, prosecuting civil cases against predatory businesses. I saw firsthand how the State builds cases, what evidence they prioritize, and where their strategies have weaknesses.
Now, I use this diverse experience to advocate aggressively for my clients. I understand how prosecutors think because I've been on that side. I know what it takes to win at trial because I've done it repeatedly. That perspective shapes every case I take—even the ones that settle.
